Courses offered at CMPS
 
Basic Firearm Course
The CMPS Basic Courses include training in Pistol, Rifle,  Home Firearms Safety, and Personal Protection in the Home. Other than the Personal Protection course, each of the shooting disciplines are designed to teach the recreational use of firearms. There are no prerequisites (other than Personal Protection) and each course includes a student handbook and certificate upon successful completion of the course.

CMPS Shooting Courses
The CMPS Shooting Courses include Basic Handgun, Intermediate Handgun, and Urban Rifle. These courses focus on the defensive use of a firearm and encourage the necessary mindset to prevail in a lethal force confrontation. CMPS also provides the course required by the State of Texas for CHL Issuance and renewals.

Texas Concealed Handgun Course
The CMPS Basic Courses include training in Pistol, Rifle, Shotgun, Home Firearms Safety, Personal Protection in the Home and Reloading. Other than the Personal Protection course, each of the shooting disciplines are designed to teach the recreational use of firearms. There are no prerequisites (other than Personal Protection) and each course includes a student handbook and certificate upon successful completion of the course.

Home Firearms Safety
Among the course offerings in unarmed self defense is the XXXXX. The CMPS training program offers practical street defense including punching, kicking, grappling, take-downs and throws, and carefully monitored contact sparring. Advanced levels will practice using and defending against weapons including clubs, knives, and firearms (disarms and weapon retention drills).

Personal Protection in the Home
CMPS hosts several special events on a regular basis. The CMPS Handgun SkillBuilder is a highly intensive practice to increase the shooters ability with their firearm. The most popular regular event is the CMPS Handgun Challenge. The CMPS Night Pistol Shoot is quick to sell out, so watch the schedule carefully.
